Portraiture - George Lim

View all 17 photos...
Went for a photoshoot at Taman Tun with Cavin and Hong Kiat, my first real outdoor shoot... TIRING !

The shoot was from 11.30am to 3pm, the sun was hot and we were all burning, the waters at the waterfall made us so tempted to jump into it... and while waiting for George to change his clothes....

They took me as a model...

2nd time writing this cause the first time it didn't save and showed me:
db error
"Lost connection to MySQL server during query"
Anyway let’s begin.... Some pics are a bit blurry and darker compared to the others. I like the brighter ones personally and the pulling on leafs and picking stones just doesn’t do it for me. That’s about all the criticism I can dish out…
Like I said the brighter ones are really nice to look at... love the angles... especially the 5th from last one where he is looking up with the waterfall as a background. Awesome shot!!!
Overall this turned out to be a really good set of yours.... good stuff and thanks for sharing....
I’m sure they are happy with the outcome…
Ps: can we go swimming there??? get your trunks ready!!!

Penang Trip - Portraiture Shots.

View all 13 photos...
Took this opportunity to use 2 of my usual "models" Shan and Janice for some portraiture shots, I'm totally out of ideas, there wasn't anything much for me to take, and my ISO settings are screwed !!!! I have to be more careful next time.

Penang Trip - HDR Galore

View all 19 photos...
Was in Penang from the 22nd to the 24th with a whole bunch of buddies... took some scenery shots for HDR purporses, the tripod failed on me and I wasn't able to use it, thus besides the first picture, the rest are all done with 1 RAW file... I set the ISO to 640 prior to a shoot in the morning and I totally forgotten to set it back, thus some pictures are rather noisy.

Tamron Lenses Launching and Models Photoshoot

View all 23 photos...
Went to Boulevard Hotel with Jiat to this event... thanks for the invite Jiat ! Place was filled with photogs, I guess in these kind of situation you just take your chances and try to "capture the moment"... the model can't oblige to too many requests, thus I just shot whatever I could.

So did u end up buying any Tamron lenses? I see Katherine Fong there. Hey, I saw from other photographers got Carace also..but dunno if she got pose in Bikini or not?

Wei.. got see Andy Goh there or not that day?

Langat Lookout Point - 2nd Trial

8"/F8, Focal Lenghth - 70mm
10"/F9, Focal Lenghth - 70mm
HDR from 7 Shots
They gang decided to go to Langat Lookout Point again to celebrate Yung Ken's birthday. I took this opportunity to go up and grabbed more pictures. Since the last one was a little too noisy, I used ISO200 instead this time.... looks better but I only had a kit lens with me... thus the things I shoot are rather limited.

1 Tripod, 3 Pictures withe the same F-stop, Photoshop CS and the history brush tool... this is what you'll get...

A rough idea, I might try again to get better effects. Thanks for the idea Hazman

Very interesting shot u have there... but if u wanna make it more realistic, limit it to having only 2 images of yourself..then ppl might actually think u have a twin.

If u are into making these sort of twin self-potrait, then check out this famous photographer on Flickr called Rebekka via http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/sets/1058377/

Everyone's Eye Is On The Eye On Malaysia

"Painting" the Eye

View all 14 photos...
Not knowing much and afraid that I might miss the fireworks for good, I decided to go to the Eye On Malaysia to try to grab some pictures. Later did I know that the fireworks will be on every night until the 3rd of February . Anyways... only had minimal time to edit the pics before I got to work today, I might go again next week to capture more pictures.

Picture 13 would be my first HDRI (High Dynamic Range Images) picture generated from 9 different exposures I took on the Eye. Enjoy

You can read more about HDR's at http://www.hdrsoft.com/resources/dri.html#capture

Agree that the Painting the Eye on Malaysia is very good idea. It looks so real as of the guy is painting.. Good ! Keep up with good ideas! Still wandering if the guy is laughing or giggling or not... Fri 19-Jan-2007 00:52

Took her out for a walk... and decided to let her loose to take some pics... the evening sky was making it rather hard to take at fast shutter, thus I was running on 1/60 and it made movements blurry... with a dog that doesn't listen much to you... its quite hard

hmm.. I don't really know how to comment on the picture, honestly coming from a person who doesn't know S**ts about photography can only tell you what I feel coz I know jack s**ts about the technical stuff , lighting ,effects and etc.... so only one word i can say... its just normal to me... maybe if I let you take pics of my pups... maybe it'll be different! hehe Thu 11-Jan-2007 09:09
